Chloe Smith MP, as founder of the campaign and Chair of the Norwich For Jobs Steering Group will on Friday 15th March, be showcasing the benefits of apprenticeships for both employer and young person in a visit to local firm, Eyre.
Norwich For Jobs was invited to visit Eyre by JTL Training to mark National Apprenticeship Week.
Budding mechanics were given a chance to try out their preferred career at a Norfolk training centre on Tuesday.
Organised by the Norwich For Jobs (NFJ) campaign, a group of eight job seekers, aged 18 to 24, headed to the Action Community Enterprises (Ace) site at Rackheath Industrial Estate.
The young people – seven men and one woman – are all currently claiming jobseekers’ allowance and are keen to pursue careers in the motor industry.
Chloe Smith, Member of Parliament for Norwich North, will on Wednesday 13th March 2013, be hosting a Careers Networking Event in Westminster for UEA Students as part of National Apprenticeships Week.
The event will be attended by Politics Students from UEA and representatives from other organisations, including the Civil Service Fast Stream, with the aim of allowing students to seek introductions to organisations that may prove useful to a career in politics.

Employers have pledged to help young people make the most of 101 jobs, 36 apprenticeships and 78 work experience placements as part of the Norwich for Jobs campaign.
In their first official update, one month after the launch of the initiative, the Norwich Foundation for Jobs has revealed the extent of the support flooding in from businesses and organisations across the city.
For Norwich For Jobs to succeed, 1,000 people aged 18 to 24 years old need to earn themselves a job by the end of 2015.
In its simplest terms, that means the county’s businesses need to have – or create – 1,000 vacancies in that time that they are willing to give to a young worker keen to start building themselves a career.
Seems like a big ask, doesn’t it?
But the foundation behind the initiative is keen to stress that those employers backing the campaign can find many other ways to help.
