When Norwich for Jobs started working with 23 year old Scott, he was claiming Employment Support Allowance and was low on confidence when it came to work. Scott says:
“I decided to start work experience in February after attending an information session. During this period of work experience I made full use of other opportunities on offer via Norwich for Jobs and attended a CV and interview advice session and a work taster with local Norwich for Jobs employers.
“I was quite apprehensive to begin with but after several chats with the Norwich for Jobs Project Manager, I decided to apply for a work experience placement with Anglian Home Improvements. I then applied to undertake a work experience placement with Norfolk County Council and, as a result, I was offered a part-time job on their temporary register.
“I’m now working and I feel more confident than I did when I first started and more positive about what I can do in work. This experience has improved my life greatly and I feel more relaxed and happy.”
